Flashing egg timer with cursor

I have a constantly flashing egg timer next to my cursor when I am online, and can't get rid of it. Help

    a quick google finds this,
    Annoying egg timer is constantly flashing alongside the cursor arrow.
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. Type msconfig, and then click OK. ...
    3. Click the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.

    If this is a small hourglass symbol next to the cursor it means the computer is doing something in the background.  If it was in the foreground you'd just have an hour glass.

    If this only happens when you're online that implies the issue is with the browser so if its a profile based browser do the usual - disable extensions, skins and/or make a new profile and see if problem goes away.
