Is there a price difference for an Electricity commercial meter rate compare to a domestic meter rate?
I was on a standard tariff before the new higher price cap rate. my electricity company has now changed my meter from a commercial to a domestic. my new standard tariff price cap is lower than what I was on before. would that have been correct? Am I owed money due to the mix up?

The rate you pay per kWh is dependant on the tariff you are on.
Commercial supplies are not subject to any Ofgem cap on their tariffs.

Thanks for your reply. Just so I’m clear,
Being on a standard tariff, the kWh rate would have been the same for both domestic and commercial meters?0 -

Commercial tariffs may be a lot more expensive unit rates and standing charges .

So basically when they put my smart meter in they registered it as a commercial property not domestic. It’s taken over a year to get them to change it back and this has only just been corrected a couple weeks ago. I was on a fixed tariff before the new meter and then it went to the standard tariff after my fix ended so I have no idea if there should have been a different rate for the domestic meter than the commercial meter0

Can you share details of yourt old and new tariffs, and whether you were paying 5% or 20% VAT?

It says 5% VAT so I guess that’s the normal rate and has been the same on all my bills. The first Pic is when they changed me over to a smart meter and that’s when it got changed to a commercial meter.0
