Just a few thoughts - spending diary!!!! Write down everything you spend then analyse it & see where you can cut costs.
How is your health? Could you cope with a part time job for a while? If not, how about mystery shopping, or working for AQA or similar?
Good luck!!!
I have started a spending diary, found a cute little notebook that I can use, so it's all going in there.
Thankfully I'm much better now, so I am going to look at part-time work. I have signed up to a couple of the mystery-shopping websites, so keeping my fingers crossed!I really thought I just hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, 50 feet of crap, then me. (Friends)

I don't know much about DMP but i would talk to them before overpaying as you don't want to be seen to favour one creditor over another. Have you signed up to any survey sites? How about selling stuff on Ebay and Amazon?
I'm not totally confident about that either, so I will check with CCCS to see what the situation is with increasing payments. I've signed up to Toluna, Lightspeed and some others as well - it's hard to keep track!
I am selling on ebay and Amazon already, have lots of books, DVDs and CDs for a start!I really thought I just hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, 50 feet of crap, then me. (Friends)

Sounds like you are sorted then!
But I would check the overpayment thing with CCCS, you don't want to upset anyone!Current debt - £16,300
Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
No, absolutely - I don't think I'm on their Christmas card list as it is!! :rotfl:I really thought I just hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, 50 feet of crap, then me. (Friends)

Even doing a bar job two nights a week should pull in at least £60 ish.
WOW! That is very impressive, you're an inspiration! I would probably look at doing bar work, have done a lot of it in the past and always found it enjoyable and has a good social aspect.
What jobs are you doing misscomickat?I really thought I just hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, 50 feet of crap, then me. (Friends)

I'm working 8-5 every day as a receptionist (temping).
I work Saturday afternoons as a copytaker for the sports newspaper, and I work at a large concert venue as front of house, eg showing people to their seats etc (about 2 or 3 nights a week).
You shouldn't have a problem picking up bar work in Brum, especially if you get in quick. I've worked on bars all over Birmingham and always found it easy to get jobs.0 -
hello!!!
just thought I'd say a big hello too!!
I've said this before today (but don't let that make it seem insincere) but I have also fallen into my money problems due to long term illness, and I'm a young lady too, so just to let you know you aren't alone!! It's so tough, and I think it's harder because often your mates just can't understand, as it's not so common to be young and unwell.
I found this place soooo friendly, I couldn't believe it!!! It's a lifesaver, it really is.
Hope to catch you around the forums again!!!

THANK YOU everyone, for the replies, suggestions, support and lack of judgement - I can't tell you how much better I feel having got it out in the open. I felt like I was the only person who was in this kind of debt. I am ashamed to be in so much debt, but I'm feeling pretty positive about it all as I feel like I'm being pro-active and at least getting back in control of the situation. I really appreciate all of the help I get here, you're all :A xxI really thought I just hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, 50 feet of crap, then me. (Friends)
