The main thing is to take meter readings the day you move out, with photos as evidence just in case. You'll then need to sort out what you have to pay the SOLR once they contact you like everyone else, which I'd guess will be via e-mail. I trust you have a mail forward set up anyway?0

Read the meters as close as possible to the date the SOLR takes over, they will be your closing readings with Pure Planet. Submit thise as opening readings to the SOLR. [In hindsight (just having been a victom of the Symbio collapse) I recommend reading the meters every day until you know the name of the SOLR and the formal takeover date.]Read them again on the day you move out, those will be the closing readings with the SOLR. Inform the SOLR of your new address for billing purposes.Of course read the meters at your new place when you move in, and contact the incumbent supplier for that property, insist you are put on their Standard Variable Rate.0

Do you mind me asking quite what happened that now makes your recommend this? I'm with Pure Planet myself.jbuchanangb said:[In hindsight (just having been a victom of the Symbio collapse) I recommend reading the meters every day until you know the name of the SOLR and the formal takeover date.]0 -
The reason I say this is that Symbio went bust on 29 September, and E.On was not announced as SOLR until 4 October, but to have taken over on 3 October. Now Pure Planet has gone bust on 13 October, and OFGEM have not yet announced the SOLR. So Pure Planet customers should read their meters every day until the SOLR is announced. Then they can be sure to have reading(s) valid for the day the SOLR takes over.1

Thanks for replying. I think for me the difference of a day or two would make such a neglible difference that I won't bother but I understand where you're coming from.jbuchanangb said:The reason I say this is that Symbio went bust on 29 September, and E.On was not announced as SOLR until 4 October, but to have taken over on 3 October.
