Wickes bathroom fitting or not as is the actual case

Hi
I have had two bathroom installations started from Wickes. The installations were due to be complete on the 15th September. The installers left on the 17th and have not returned, they phoned Wickes and said they were not finishing the job.

There have been many issues with poor design (designed in a door that doesn’t open you have to get in sideways) incorrect or missing deliveries and very poor workmanship (some images attached) however we have been left with one half bathroom with no door on it and it’s been like this for over 3weeks or day 44 now since this started.

They sent a fitter to inspect and report on the 2 installations on the 1st Oct.

Yesterday we received a bullet list of some of the things completed incorrectly. Not the report or even any details let alone commitment to make good.

Is there anywhere I can get an Independent report on the standard of installation? Can we insist on a copy of their  report?

We feel like they are not taking this seriously and being strung along with comments that they are “being busy” and having to “sort out” things to make sure it’s put right.
the door is not straight and looks odd with different gap. (He tiled first as the shower tray was not available and then fitted tray and door at the end)
here the tiles are dropping on the window underledge, poor finishing and the condensation is due to the installer blowing up the extractor fan by not fitting the transformer.
poor finish
the joke here is we asked about painting the ceiling and we’re told by the installer to paint it first as you don’t want to get paint on your new bathroom!
this is simply the most spectacular siliconing I have ever seen let alone from a professional.
there is much more 🥺

Everything I see in the images is wrong. Utter mess of a job

Tiling is some of the worst I’ve seen, silicone is awful, there’s no chance of getting the fascia pack on the WC unit as the tiling is overlapping the edge of the unit

it isn’t fixable , whole lot needs tearing out and starting over - from a experienced bathroom fitter

I think this is one for the consumer board as it's effectively retail.

Did you pay using finance?  Credit card?   I'm thinking chargeback.

It looks like something we'd rip out, not put in 🤦🏼‍♀️

    It's amateur.

I'm an amateur, and even I would be embarrassed by that

    Well, yes.

  • Thanks for responding.
Was beginning to think I was being too picky.
hadn’t spotted the fascia pack one, ta @andyhop.

we paid by card and currently Wickes seem happy to say all the right things on the phone but I’m not getting it in writing. They have now told me another fitter is going to arrive Monday to fit the upstairs and will confirm (or otherwise) the previous fitter report that they already have saying the downstairs all had to come out.

Apparently the original fitter stands by his opinion that this is acceptable and was nearly complete (must be trying to get paid 🤣).
