To go for a two year fixed switch or one year
Options
Hi
anticipating the price rise I have been offered by eon who I am with a new one year rate that works out around £40 per month compared to the £26 I pay currently (my flat is very small). I have checked and I can get octopus for £50 per month at a two year fixed rate - would it be wise to pay the extra £10 for the fixed rate but then down the line possibly save more incase there is another price increase? Instead of not switching

You'd probably be better off doing nothing and rolling on to E.ON's SVR as it's likely to be the cheapest tariff. The monthly DD you're being offered is largely irrelevant. We need to know the unit price and standing charge of all 3 tariffs.2

Hi,remember the 'fixed rate' is only the unit price and daily standing charge, if you use more your monthly DD will be increased.1

Instead of not switchingOctopus 24M Fixed October 2021 v1 showing via CEC and maybe other comparison sites has been replaced by much more expensive v2, Octopus advice is not to switch as would save money staying with existing supplier
