I ordered an iPad from John Lewis.  I ordered it for next day delivered as needed it urgently.  A box arrived which was not an iPad.  Upon opening it there was a notebook inside.  The box was plain,  had no paperwork, it wasn’t tampered with but had JL delivery label.  JL have said they need to do an investigation as the notebook isn’t even one of their products.  They are calling back tomorrow- I was wondering what my consumer rights are.  It is very strange, but at the moment I have technically been robbed and I’m worried I won’t get my money back / replacement.

By "notebook" do you mean an electronic device between a netbook and a tablet, or a traditional notebook comprising leafs of paper bound to facilitate the recording of ideas with the aid of a pencil?
  • Sadly it’s a hardback book with paper in it.

Do tell us how it has been resolved.  Did J Lewis tell you how a notebook that they do not stock got into one of their parcels?

I have no idea (presume ongoing investigation)  My issue (lack of iPad) has been resolved.
