I tried for ages to close my account online - could never get through to them on the phone.in the end, I emailed my local branch and one of them took care of it for me - I can't remember if I had to put it writing to them too, but I know I can no longer login.never again would I bank with Virgin.0

A fully loaded VM current account makes £20 a year. Switching can make 5 times or more than that in less than 2 weeks. There’s also nothing to stop you from applying for another VM account.jimjames said:
Out of interest where do you get better rates than the 2% the current account pays?wiseonesomeofthetime said:I have switched three VM current accounts away. All three linked Savings accounts are still showing on the app.
No money in them mind. Better rates elsewhere.4 -
I got six year's worth of VM interest by switching to Nationwide, £125jimjames said:

Got five year's worth of VM interest by switching to Lloyds, £100
Got six and half year's worth of VM interest coming from Santander switch, £130
Much better than having loads of VM accounts open and waiting years for the return.
Oh, and all tax-free
Still got one VM current account left as exhausted all eligible switches.2 -
For all it's bright Virgin veneer - it's basically a rebranded B account that itself was basically a slightly upgraded Yorkshire/Clydesdale account and they were very branch/admin heavy.janusdesign said:I tried for ages to close my account online - could never get through to them on the phone.in the end, I emailed my local branch and one of them took care of it for me - I can't remember if I had to put it writing to them too, but I know I can no longer login.never again would I bank with Virgin.
