Thanks. Argos (& Ebay Argos) only £40 more than best price I found on retailers in my OP.frugalmacdugal said:
Is the consensus that its better to buy through them?
I'm not envisaging any problems but some companies are much easier to deal with than others.0 -
Don't bother with the CX get the C1 instead if you can afford it. In fact, if you can spend the bit extra then personally I'd get the Sony A9.badger09 said:

LGOLED48CX5LC or 6LB
Also if I was buying a new OLED TV, or any new TV for that matter, I'd be getting it from a retailer with a 5 or 6 year warranty included.1 -
Why? What's the difference?neilmcl said:

Personal preference for Sony?
To be honest, all the letters & numbers (after 48) are completely baffling to me!
Agreed. However, the LG I've been looking at has a 5 year manufacturer warranty.neilmcl said:badger09 said:

I usually start with the Which? reviews, set a max budget, and go from there.
Budget isn't the main issue, just needs to needs to be wall mountable and decent quality so husband can watch his sport. Don't need lots of bells & whistles & the LG48CX seem to fit the bill.

Don't get me wrong the CX is a very good OLED but the C1 is it's newer replacement, it has a better processor for contrast and upscaling, arguably better software and overall a slightly better TV. As far as the Sony is concerned, it's not personal preference, it's recognised as having much better motion handling, colour handling and picture processing than the LG and the sound quality is supposed to be better too.badger09 said:

One thing that the LG excels at over the Sony is gaming, as it has all the latest tech such as HFR, VRR etc, so if you're into your gaming (so you'll know what those acronyms mean) and you have the latest consoles then the LG is the better bet, but if you're more into your TV and movies then this is where the Sony excels.

OP, don't forget to check if you can get any valid voucher codes for any of the retailers. Sometimes the more expensive retailer can be cheaper with a voucher code. I bought my last LG from Hughes Direct - a few years ago now - but ended up £100 cheaper with a code.1
