A YEAR IN PROVENCE WITH CAROL DRINKWATER COMPETITION – ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Competition opened at 2pm (14.00) on 08.10.2021Competition closes at midday (12.00) on 11.01.2022 and 3 working days later for postal entries.

1)      There is one prize of a 5-night break to Provence to be won. This prize is for two people and includes:

a)       Return economy flights for two from a London airport of the Prize Provider’s choice to Marseille, France including taxes, fees and checked baggage;

b)      Return private airport transfers for two in Marseille;

c)       Five (5) nights’ hotel accommodation for two at Hotel Le Pigonnet in Aix-en-Provence, based on sharing a double or twin room, including daily continental breakfast;

d)      Full-day, gourmet cookery class at a local chef’s countryside home in Aix-en-Provence, including:

o   Tour of the old town food market in Aix en Provence to select some of the best local ingredients

o   Visit to a wine Château for wine tasting and wine selection to pair with meal

o   Cooking session, followed by four-course lunch of typical Provençal dishes; and

e)      £1,000 spending money for the prize winner only.

2)      The prize winner must book their trip within 28 days of the date of their congratulations e-mail from Element and at least six weeks in advance of their preferred departure date or the prize may be forfeited.

3)      The prize must be taken and completed by 15th December 2022 and cannot be taken over any UK Bank Holidays (15th April to 18th April 2022; 2nd May 2022) or from 1 July 2022 to 31 August 2022. The prize and its components are subject to availability.

4)      Flights may be indirect and the routing will be determined by the prize provider.

5)      The prize winner and their companion must depart from and return to the same UK airport.

6)      The prize winner and their companion must hold current and valid passports and any other relevant travel documentation required for travel to and entry into France. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to organise and pay costs associated with obtaining visas for themselves and their companion. Passports must be valid for travel with a minimum of six (6) months on the date of departure from the UK when taking up the trip. For the latest advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office on travel to France, including security and local laws, plus passport and visa information, check www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

7)      Travel insurance is not included but it is strongly advised for travel. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to organise and pay costs associated with obtaining appropriate travel insurance for themselves and their companion.

8)      Where the prize winner is under 18 years old, the prize winner must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over to check into the hotel. Please note that either the prize winner or their companion will need a current and valid credit card in order to check in at the hotel for security deposit purposes. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to ensure that they and/or his/her companion adhere to the local laws in France. It is highly recommended that the prize winner and his/her companion obtain advice from a medical professional in advance of travelling and ensure that vaccinations are up to date.

9)      The prize excludes ground transfers in the UK, additional meals and drinks which are not included in the prize, additional excursions, attractions, treatments, gratuities, personal expenses, visas and vaccinations where required and all other costs and arrangements not expressly included in the prize.

10)   The prize and all its elements are subject to availability. Neither Channel 5 nor Element will accept responsibility for the hotel or any facilities / elements of the prize being unavailable, withdrawn or amended.

11)   There is no cash alternative or refund for unused portions of the prize.

12)   Any amendments made by the prize winner after the booking is confirmed may be subject to administration charges levied by the specific supplier. Any such charges will be the responsibility of the prize winner.

13)   Any additional charges or expenses due to COVID-19 which could include but are not limited to quarantine hotels, COVID passports (should they become a requirement), COVID tests etc. will be the responsibility of the prize winner.

14)   A cheque/BACS transfer for the spending money included in the prize will be issued in the prize winner’s name within 14 days of the holiday booking being confirmed.
