Barclaycard soft search query

Hello there,

Due to a recent fraud on my bank account, I'm concerned about ID theft and have signed up to Equifax. I discovered there was a soft search done recently by Barclaycard at both my current address and one I left 14 years ago. For search type it just says "N/A" when it would usually say "consumer enquiry" or "credit quotation." I am not nor never have been a Barclaycard customer.

Now is this crooks potentially trying to get a Barclaycard? or maybe just the company sizing me up try and get me to get one? Or something else? ideas appreciated.

No idea what the root cause is, you'd probably have to ask Barclaycard.
