  • Tell him to sort it out or find a proper plumber.
I’ve texted, WhatsApp’d and left a Voicemail none of which he’s responded to. I begrudge paying someone else to fix his shoddy work. I’m having a new floor laid next week so I want it fixed before then

I guess he was reluctant to drain down the whole system just to dismantle seal one fitting, so hoped a further tweak would do it...
I guess he could just freeze the 10mm tail, tho' - that wouldn't take much doing, a lot easier than a 15mm pipe! And by fully shutting off the TRV, that would have kept the rad from emptying too. This should surely be easily doable for a plumber?
I guess you need to keep on at him, or tell him of the upcoming deadline and inform him you'll get someone else to do the job if he can't, and you'll MoneyClaim him for the cost.
Don't know what else to suggest.
