Switching

I have just opened a bank account so I can use it for switching, can I use it to switch straight away or do you have to have it open for a certain period of time.

You can switch as soon as you've received your debit card, unless you require direct debits to be set up.

Unless there are any product-specific terms associated with the account, then you can switch it whenever you like, although you obviously also need to check that it satisfies the criteria for any switching incentive you're planning to go for....

No you do not, although you will need to enter its card number during the switch application process.

You need to activate it if it's not automatically activated.
