What does this mean ........

I have just sold an item on ebay (well nearly). I clearly stated twice that it was UK only and the winnig bidder was an address in France, he also has no feedback.
Next i get an email from ebay saying "TKO NOTICE"

"We have removed these listings and will credit all fees to your account because it has come to our attention that the items were bought without the account owner's authorisation. We are now restoring the account to its owner. "

Then i get an email from the buyer saying he actually wants me to send it to address in south africa and he will add £80 to the postage, and that any message i have received from ebay is an error :confused::confused::confused:
Does this scream BEWARE or what ?
Any ideas ?

It was a wii, with all the panic of making sure we had one in time for dd's xmas we ended up with 2. So i put it on for the price i paid for it.
Its puzzling me why ebay removed it

Don't reply, don't entertain any further communication from him, and don't even think about sending, even if you do by some unlikely chance get paid.

Search this forum for 'Nigeria' and you should be able to dig up some tips and tricks to stop this happening again.

Annoying yes, but not as annoying as being scammed out of your Wii. As others above have said this was an attempted scam without a shadow of a doubt.

Was there another bidder? You might be able to do a second chance offer.

    Good luck.

You should report it to ebay though they probably get inundated with these things. Ebay were probably alerted by the genuine French ebayer reporting a highjacked account.

Definately a scam, same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago with my laptop. Dont click on any of the links in the emails they send you either. Ebay will let you relist it and wont charge any more fees.

yup relist and you will sell no problem.
personally i would start the WII on a low start and take what it makes as you are near 100% to go well beyond retail cost

Just be thankful ebay spotted it in time..it shows they do sometimes do somehting about the scammers.

Unfortunately though you will have to relist it, but if you wait until tomorrow it is a cheap listing day in some ctaegories as long as you use paypal (which of course you must do for a console) and list for 3 days only.

I agree its a small price to pay as opposed to what could of happened.
I was going to give it to the next bidder as a second chance offer but ebay totally removed it from my account.
Ive re listed it starting at 0.99p see how it goes this time !
I will report it to ebay too.
Thanks for all the advice x
