Recently sold my old car, filled in the v5 form and it was sent off, got a notification from the DVLA a week or so later saying no longer registered keeper.
However since then i have received a Vehicle tax reminder for the now sold vehicle -
Do I need to do anything, or can this tax reminder be ignored? ( as mentioned the v5 was sent off and an acknowledgment from the DVLA was received stating no longer registered owner)
Also had a few fines + threatening letters for the old vehicle after it was sold to the scrappers all from dependant parking agency's/departments

I assume the fines/letters are all for offences dated after you disposed of ther car - simply photo copy the DVLA notification and send it to them. Keep the DVLA notification handy just in case somebody comes knocking on the door.

If you receive any LBA's or CCCF's then you would have to use your no longer keeper notification to prove you aren't responsible for any fines/invoices.0 -
Tax reminders are produced well in advance and sent out in batches nearer the time so likely you informed DVLA after the reminder is produced. Keep that letter safe.Did you transfer ownership of the car you scrapped ? You should do it the same as selling into trade, you don't simply hand it over to the scrappy and forget about it. https://www.gov.uk/scrapped-and-written-off-vehicles Many cars that are "scrapped" will often end up back on the road under the name of the original owner and used by criminals.

thanks, the logbook was completed and the bits sent off - received a small white notification slip from the DVLA saying no longer registered owner.the acknowledgement slip will be kept somewhere safe, and the letters about fines after it was sold will be ignored and filled in the bin0
