iPad stuck in guided access mode

Earlier today I put my iPad into guided access on a drawing app (as I have done many times). When I tried to end guided access I triple clicked the top button and the enter code box popped up but the keyboard is glitched so I cannot enter the code

Its a 4th generation iPad air with up to date ios if that makes any difference

Managed to get out. I'd forgotten how to force shutdown on an iPad without a home button0
