British Gas Economy 7 woe

Hi, We have just moved over to BG, and since the switch, only day reading has changed, and night reading has not budged - as we have a car charger, I record all usage, as it comes through on an app. My question is - have you managed to get this sorted? Since we had our smart meters installed, I have probably changed supplier 4-5 times, with no problems - get moved to BG and the problems arise from the second they take over
Thanks in advance for reading - Kirsty0 -

We discussed here the other day this situation - as we are also on E7, currently getting electric through UW. While it seems “unlikely” (🤞🏼🤞🏼) that they will succumb to the current crop of failures among smaller suppliers, our hypothetical discussion focused on the “but what if” approach. Our take was that if such a situation arose at a point in the future where we have a smart meter and the current BG situation is not sorted, at the first HINT on an SOLR transfer to BG we’d be approaching everyone even vaguely relevant with a complaint that we (and all others in the same situation) were unsuitable to be transferred to BG and so an alternative route must be found. We agreed that this would include the UW (or future supplier) Adminstrators, BG themselves, directly to ofgem, our local MP and the media….anyone at all we thought might be willing to assist to get this sorted. In the summer months it would be a pain having a delay to sort out - in the winter months it would be untenable as we’d be left with no heating due to the extortionate costs of running it on the day rate. My suspicion is that it would still take a good while to sort out but at least by raising the issue immediately we’d hopefully be ahead of the curve AND raising awareness of the issue. Essentially IMO until they sort out this situation they should not be being given any future SOLR customers for electricity.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We have economy 7 on British gas. The meter is new but not a smart one. It was fitted by British gas in December. The fitter specifically said that British gas cannot provide a smart e7 meter. Its so annoying!!0

Since then the Night Rate meter reading has not budged, but the Day Rate meter has flown on. I've been wading through treacle with multiple BG agents half a world away on live chat and been given lots of conflicting answers, the most recent being that my meter is not compatible with BG's systems so, although I am on an Economy 7/Day Rate-Night Rate tariff, I'll be charged for everything at Day Rate.
This will be enormously damaging if true, as I have an electric Aga and 75% of my usage is at night.
Any advice please?
Thanks
