Odd Boy Out meets Prince Philip: who is Gyles Brandreth? Who was Prince Philip? And how come Gyles ended up writing the Duke of Edinburgh’s biography? One writer
discusses two very diferent biographies and two very diferent stories… a fascinating exploration of the world of biography and fathers and sons and their relationships…

The national treasure that is Gyles Brandreth is a writer, broadcaster, performer, former MP and Government Whip, now Chancellor of the University of Chester and probably best
known these days as a reporter on BBC1’s The One Show and a regular on Radio 4’s Just A Minute. He claims among his forebears Jeremiah Brandreth, the last person to be beheaded in England for treason (in 1817), and the Victorian and Edwardian journalist and playwright George R Sims, author of Christmas Day in the Workhouse and a cousin of the Empress Eugénie.

To win 2 tickets to see Gyles Brandreth on Sunday 31st October at 2.30pm, please answer the following question:

Q: Of which university is Gyles Chancellor?

Answer: University of Chester
