Been Asked To Prove a Default is Settled.. but company have gone bust

Just wondered how to maybe go about this. I have a default on my credit file from 2015, but the firm (Different Money they were known as) have since gone into administration some years ago. I've been asked by my mortgage broker to obtain proof that this default is settled, which I know it is, but I need something from the firm itself as they won't accept a credit report showing it as settled. Any ideas where to start?! I got asked the same for my other default but as that was Barclaycard that was very easily done.

I guess you are going to struggle. What was the exact date of the default as it must be close to dropping off anyway?

Its mid October 2015 so yeah it's close, and my MA did go back saying it drops off in a matter of days, but as it was present when I did the mortgage application it needs to be proved.

As the company is defunct you will have hit a wall as there's nobody left to answer your query.

Might be left with looking at different provider then if your MA can't persuade the mortgage company to go with the current situation.

Ah just a thought but is this direct and an in house MA rather than through an independent MA.

If that's the case then possibky worth finding an independent MA to take a look and see what they can do.

It is independent. I have found via companies house the administrators that took over, so I'll perhaps speak to them Monday to confirm to me that I owe no further money to their client. my MA said that was the reason for the follow up really, to ensure no further payments are due.
