Update- so Halifax have been attempting to contact our Developer since Tuesday and have given us 5 working days to make contact. Our developer have stated that they have no voicemails on their answer machine but I'm not confident this is the case.Is there anything we can do? Can I find the number myself and pass it onto the developer.Thanks0

Also, is it 5 working days from receiving application, or 5 working days from when they attempted to arrange the valuation? They have advised that after 5 days it will be cancelled.0

Please ignore the above lol!
This has finally been arranged0 -
Hi @kingstreet
I've been reading through various threads and seems you have some real understanding of the Halifax process. I was hoping you could provide a little insight to my current situation:FTB- me and the wife
Joint income of £71K (plus 10K bonus annually)
I have 1 CCJ ( val £456) dated 2019 satisfied April this year
Wife has few late payments on mail order back in 2019
House price £340K
Deposit £51K
Outstanding CC debt is joint total of £11K, expecting to clear 50% off in Dec. Broker advised we potentially need to clear all outstanding credit card debt before completion.
Have applied for a mortgage with a broker- Didn't receive and AIP but was told HSBC were managing through. HSBC declined due to CCJ.
Now we have submitted to Halifax (who we have also banked with for the last 8 years and have good account keeping history with). AIP approved (no referring straight to approve via the broker who declared adverse history). Full application submitted, valuation fee paid (yesterday around 11am). Spoke with my broker today who said valuation has been completed. Assuming this is a desktop valuation.
Just wanted to understand your thoughts on next steps and likely hood of us being approved. I've read your comments in previous posts about "the input through the portal not letting you process the £100 valuation fee unless the application has been accepted"
My broker has pretty much everything from months of banks statements and payslips etc due to the HSBC application so I have not been asked for anything additional.
Are you able to shed a little more light on the process please? i.e. would this valuation take place if it hadn't been accepted? Will we have passed the credit scoring? Is it an automated process or does it have it be reviewed by an underwriter first?
Appreciate any kind of guidance you can give,

Starting your own thread will give you better results.0 -
I think you will be fine. Our credit files were similar when we took our mortgage out with Halifax a couple of years ago and they approved it no problem. In fact we had the mortgage offer through just a few days after the application.0
