Halifax Mortgage- bad credit?

Evening everyone,
I've recently applied for a mortgage with Halifax and am on pins about the whole process. Myself and my partner originally applied for Nottingham BS through our mortgage broker and was sadly rejected due to the number of small payday loans on my file (over 30) dating back to 2016.
My partners credit file is squeaky clean in that he has no debt or missed payments, loans etc in his file.
We have no missed payments or debt in the last 3/4 years and are putting down a 15% deposit. I've heard that Halifax can be quite lenient and are broker seems to think we have a chance.
Any success stories? Or advice.
I'm aware my credit history is wild, was a difficult period but we move forward.
Any advice welcome

I was worried about this too so here my history:
Partner has no credit issues at all.
I’ve previously had defaults, all dropped off now but still some missed payments over 2 years ago, I had one default removed on a technicality so all of the late payments still showed from 5 years ago on those accounts but they’re due to drop off in Jan. I then had 1 missed payment every year on one account but all more than 2 years ago.
I’d also had A LOT of payday loans but none for 2 years.
Good income, 18% deposit and no other debts and we got our mortgage offer from Halifax within 4 days.1 -
If your Broker has put the case through to full application then you have passed credit score so your credit history is not an issue for Halifax.I am a Mortgage Broker

We haven't received a AIP from Halifax as of yet so I'm assuming maybe this is the stage we're at.0

Just an update, we have been given the AIP and the case has been put through to full application. I'm assuming this is the credit check part right? Any advice helpful0

A soft search is done at AIP and a hard search as the full app is submitted.

Morning all!
So yesterday I had 2 soft searches from Halifax on my credit file; 1 mortgage offer search and 1 identification search.. these have now dissapeared from my file? Anybody know why this may be?
Thanks0 -
A further update- Halifax has contacted our developer to arrange the valuation and have requested we send in one more payslip. Does this mean we have passed the credit check? Or do they do the credit check once they have the additional documents.. Nervous is an understatement.0
