Contacted Scottish Power 23rd Sep from Avro + I hope helpful advice

Options
I was with Avro for more than 3 years. Got my monthly bill down to £68 with the help of 11 solar panels. (6k) For 8 month of the year the standing charge for Gas was £5 and gas use £0.80. Lowest £0.27, hob and shower, did not need central heating in the summer. I got some tubular heaters ( £24 - £36 ) to heating small spaces up to 19 degrees centigrade = 66 fahrenheit  80 to 120w per hours. So 6 hours bedroom heat 720w now will cost me 26p. With draft excluder prevent cold air from entering underneath the door.  Siting down for 2 - 3h have your feet in a cardboard box. Cover the box with something nice will help ( think Blue Peter )
I will be with Scottish Power from12th Oct on a 3 year fix £106 on using E 4100kwh G 2100kwh
If I had more money 5 year ago I would have solar array with battery.
Batteries installed at the same time as solar panels are subject to 5% VAT.  ( IF you have £ in the Bank the  interest rates are so low, the UK Gov could put some money/grant in to some solar array + battery that would be win win )
The £114 credit in Avro will nicely pay Octopus between the two dates.
Keep safe and well.
