Hi all
We have moved into our new home a couple of days ago. There was some fairly heavy rain and a couple of days on we have noticed that a few random section of brick work seems very damp still and hasn't dried out yet. Is this anything to worry about.
You can see what I mean here:

Your grass might be breaching the damp proof course. If you have a look around the house, there may be evidence at some point of a thin layer of black plastic membrane placed over one course of bricks. It goes all the way around the house. Best practice might see different, smoother bricks below it.There should be another two courses of brick visible beneath it before the grass. Can you see it anywhere? Are the bricks wet to the right of the front door as well or is it just by the downpipe? There could be an issue there but I'd be looking for the DPC first.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check on this tomorrow as its dark now.
I don't know about the bricks to the right of the front door at the moment.
I know there is a separate section of the house where some of the bricks seem much damper than others:

In the second picture it looks as if different coloured bricks have been used. Are you sure they are damp? You could try pressing some newspaper against them and against nearby bricks to see if there is a difference.

The DPC should be on the same course as the weepholes, which are just above the air bricks.
Any bricks below DPC should be F2 rated, so I wouldn't worry.1 -
Thanks all - I've raised it with the builder and will see what they say0
