I get Universal Credit and I looking for a job, I go to work coach meetings, but he tells me to take part in a work program or something like this, he said that I had to participate in it because they would not pay me. Is it mandatory? Can I say I don't need it?

You clearly do need it or you would already be working.  The Work Programme is intended to help the longer term unemployed back into work.  If you don't attend you may be sanctioned i.e. have your UC payment reduced.

Why don't you need it? It can help you back to work, which can only be a good thing.

What Programme have you been referred to?  Some programmes can be mandatory others not, how long have you been unemployed?

I still do not understand why I need this program, I have a computer to apply for a job, my CV is well-written because he checked me before, I am just looking for a job and I will not cry in pain like before when I worked in !!!!!! warehouses. Besides, I have panic attacks, the meeting with my work coach is very stressful for me, I thought he would help me, not some program.🙁🙁🙁

What you are doing at the moment isn't translating into employment, you are going to need help to turn your efforts into a fruitful outcome.
What help do you want if not this?

He is helping you by referring you to people who specialise in helping people back into work. They have more resources to help you than your work coach has.

The old Work Programme was replaced a few years ago by the Work and Health programme. Is this the programme you have been referred to? https://www.gov.uk/work-health-programme
If you are being told it is mandatory and not voluntary I believe you have to be given a letter informing you of this as it must spell out what happens if you don't attend and participate in the programme.
How long have you been unemployed? According to the above link if you are unemployed you have to have been unemployed for 24 months for it to be mandatory. Speak again with your work coach if you do not fit this criteria as sometimes work coaches make out something is mandatory when it is not.

  • No, I'm not unemployed 24 months... He did not inform me of the details. He just said that in the next meeting he would introduce me to a group that would help me find a job and
I'll have to talk to someone in the group on the phone...
And if I don't attend these meetings, I'll get sanctions. I'm silly I didn't ask about this group but I was too confused and shocked ...

What is the reason that you do not want to attend the group?
Because at the moment you’re saying you don’t need it, but you are also saying you don’t know what it is.
So you’ve decided it’s no use to you without having a clue whether it will be or not. How about keeping a bit more of an open mind, if you’re serious about getting work?

Do you have a health condition that limits your capability for work? If you do then have you reported your health condition onto your journal and provided a fit note from your GP? This doesn't stop your commiments unless your assessed as having linited capability for work. whether they are turned off or reduced will be down to the discretion of your work coach.
