You connect your computer to your phone, either by cable or wirelessly (called "tethering"), and use your mobile's data allowance.
Depends on your network coverage & what you want to do if that connection will be fast enough.
Your contract may not allow you to do this so you might need to change or take the risk of just doing it
You may need to up your mobile contrat's data allowance0 -
You can get BB only from Virgin if they are in your area, no need to take up the landline...However, the BB is dearer without a landline.
Check these out....Broadband Without a Landline - Compare Phone Line-Free Deals (gocompare.com) Much cheaper, but, can't guarantee how good.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
A PIRATE
Not an Alcoholic...!0 -
I ditched my ;landline and now use my Galaxy S21 phone as a router or hotspot as described above.
My plan is with Three and allow me to use my data this way.
It works well, but obviously I don't binge on Netflix or whatever.0 -

If you have an expensive phone, or you care about reducing e-waste, then I'd recommend getting a 4G/5G hotspot to tether your computers too as using a phone as a hot spot canes the battery and will shorten the life of the phone (or the time before you pony up to get the battery replaced)
Of course you can always put the phone on charge when you tether it - if you have the self-discipline that might work but, technically, it is still having a detrimental effect on the lifetime of the phones battery.
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?1 -

Thanks all. Got a link for a 4/5g router? Does it use your phones data or what?0

I am with EE for phone. Would I have to get an EE 4/5g as
5GEE Router | Pay Monthly 5G Mobile Broadband | EE
I have computer on most of the day, so would the data be enough? My landline is with SSE at £16 pm so I wouldnt make any saving. Never use my l/line0
