Gas Boiler installed in non compliance with manufacturer spec

I'd imagine the quote of £2100 was to fit a new boiler in the same location.
Relocation of a boiler would usually come with a higher quote, so it would not be unreasonable of heatable to ask you to pay towards relocating the boiler, as you would have had to pay this in the first place.
e.g. if the quote for moving the boiler to a new location (and thus moving gas pipes, making good walls etc...) would have been £2500, then it would be fair to ask you for the extra £400.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
The installer messed up, they are now causing significant inconvenience to the OP so I would find it highly unlikely they will try and charge extra.
They need to put right the mistake so they are going to a significant cost to do this anyway so it would be a bit of a cheek to try and charge extra and I doubt it will ever crop up.0 -
Open a complaint with Gas Safe and let them deal with it.No need to be contacting the installer, deal with Gas Safe.i.eInstallation defect guide for consumers
We will check for correct installation in accordance with the manufacturer installation instructions and
relevant industry technical standards.
Where an installation defect is found that can be evidenced to a Gas Safe registered business a defect
notice will be issued. This defect notice requires the registered business to correct the defect(s) to the
correct standard(s) within an agreed period.

Surely the best option at this point is for the original installation company to correct the errors. As soon as a third party gets involved it will drag things out and potentially get messy.

The installation company is slow to deal with.Failure of the installation company to resolve a Gas Safe defect notice in the time agreed jeopardises their Gas Safe registration, may result in suspension or removal from the register. How Gas Safe Register processes Building Regulation Non CompliancesIt has been agreed with HSE , that where faults of a Building Regulation non-compliance nature are identified through
Gas Safe Register’s inspection or complaint investigation processes, a Building Regulations non-compliance defect
notice will be raised against the registered business concerned and a timescale set for rectification of any non-compliant work to be carried out.The non-compliance defects notice will be monitored for completion of that work within the expected timescale. Where
there is a failure of a registered business to complete the remedial work without proper justification, Gas SafeRegister’s sanction policy will apply.

I think it would be totally unreasonable for the OP to have to be out of pocket because a clown did not know how to do their job correctly
Supposing the OP had received a quote from someone else for alternative installation costing £100 more why on earth should they have to pay £400 ?
You must be an incompetent tradesman's dream customer if you would just pony up without a second thought
