Child (14) recovered from Covid - pre-departure PCR test

We are travelling to Spain in Half Term.  both adults double jabbed.

We all had covid 8 weeks ago, isolated and are all recovered.

Problem is with my son, under the Spanish entry requirements he should have a PCR test – but as he’s had covid within the last 90 days government advice is not to do a PCR test – which would risk of false positive

Tried Ryan air – they said contact the Spanish embassy in London – no reply

Been onto test and trace, NHS line – no help

Really stumped – any ideas?

probably best to try to get a LAMP test which is less sensitive
"documentation certifying that you have undertaken a COVID-19 nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT - e.g. PCR, TMA, LAMP or NEAR) within 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain and tested negative."
without a negative test he will not be able to travel

Bite the bullet and do the test.  Or as above you would need to go for a more expensive option.
BTW I know of plenty people with this concern who their kids tested negative.  All were with the kit from Randox.
  • Thanks for your replies - its looking like the only option!
