We’re having talks just now with a local IFA, but we just got told that they’ve been bought by Ascot Lloyd.
Does anyone have an knowledge of them, good or bad. The appear to still be independent, but it’s difficult to tell if the are, or if they’re using the word selectively.
They also use the term wealth management. Thanks in advance.
It'll be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end....

Ascot Lloyd are a consolidator. They have been buying up IFA firms all over the country at a pretty fast rate.As a national firm, they do get a lot of coverage in the financial press just as most national firms do. So, a google search should give you a fair bit of information.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.2 -
Yes, I’ve checked out their website. I saw this, and became slightly concerned:dunstonh said:Ascot Lloyd are a consolidator. “Ascot Lloyd is a trading name of Capital Professional Limited, which is authorised and regulated in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority. It is majority owned by Oaktree Capital Management, a global investment firm. Ares Management, a leading global alternative investment manager, is a minority investor in the Ascot Lloyd group”Think we need to start afresh…….It'll be alright in the end.
