how do i find out about landlord property?

im sure i posted here a while ago as i was having problems with a landlord, and wanted to check what her correct home address was (she took my deposit) and i was fighting to get it back.

some kind person gave me a website in which i could go online and see a record of her listed property address.

does anyone know this?

surely there must be a record of home/flat owners on the internet.

please help anyone???

    It should be listed on your contract - this is a legal requirement.

  • I think the only legal requirement is that the LL must provide an address at which notices can be served, in order to be lawful and valid ... but that need not be the address where they currently live. So they could give the Agent's address, for example.

    DFC is correct. The LL needs to give you a contact address but it needn't be her home address.

    You could always try searching the land registry document. It costs 3 quid and may or may not give you the owner's address. Quite often it will give the owner's name at the rented property but sometimes it might give the address where she lives. Worth a try.
