Can Octopus do that?

I recently had an air source heat pump fitted and wanted to change my tariff. On Tuesday I checked the Octopus website for their options (I'm with them already) the cut and pasted the chosen option into an email to them immediately stating I wanted to go onto that tariff. On Wednesday an email came back saying they weren't offering that option any more, and when I checked their website, there was no sign. Can they do that legally? I accepted that option in good faith, and await their response to my email, I think the term is "Invitation to Treat".

That isn't going to get you anywhere, you can't 'accept' an 'invitation to treat' but you can 'offer' to be moved onto that tariff and they in turn can 'accept' or reject that 'offer'.
Sounds like they rejected in this case.
Which tariff was it that you were trying to move onto and which tariff are you on now?

    As above.
You should have signed up there and then. By the time they responded to the email, they had presumably dropped that particular tariff. If you got an auto-response to the email acknowledging they received it, and can prove it was still available then, you might have a case to argue.
