Hasting Revaluation Issue

I am going through my first car accident claim. My parked car was damaged (not my fault ) by the young driver, and it is now written-off (total loss). Hastings offered settlement figure to which I did not agree as it was much lower than what the similar cars are worth, considering I looked after it and it was serviced at dealership (full service history), with new set of tyres, new discs, pads etc.
As I did not agree to Intelligent Vehicle Inspection, Hastings said it will revise the offer and send re-valuation within 5 working days.
Also In Faq, Hastings writes:
In the meantime I have been contacted by Copart. They wanted to collect my car, even though I did not receive new settlement figure.
I am a bit confused/worried that if I let them take my car, they will offer me less money, and I will be without car.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think I should not let Copart take my car without agreeing to the settlement first?

Appreciate it's hard to get your head around but unfortunately you won't see back anything like the full cost of the new brakes and tyres you fitted.

I am not expecting to have full cost of parts refunded, what I want is to get fair price for the car in perfect condition (and with full dealership service history).
I checked online sites like Motors, Autotrader, also approved used cars, and same make with same age, fuel, transmission, and similar mileage cost between £600 and 1k more. Approved used cost even more.
Surely they should pay what the car is worth?
As I did not agree to first valuation, they had 5 working days to provide re-valuation.
Now they want Copart to collect car, before sending re-valuation.
If Copart collect car it will be sold or scrapped in no time. So many stories in the internet about similar stories.

In this instance, I would want to go out and get quotes for the value of repairing the car myself, and contact the 3rd party insurer. There seems to be a massive difference in how much a garage would charge for insurance reasons vs private repairs etc.0

Hastings promised re-valuation but, guess what, they still did not provide one. I might be contacting FOS.
After they failed to provide re-valuation I contacted them.
They told me that I should send a car to Copart for re-valuation, to which I did not agree as nowhere in they TC's or Faq they mention this.
Quoting they FAQ:''Our engineers will then review your comments and will be in contact within five working days to confirm if anyincrease can be made to your original valuation.''0 -
Also worth to mention that, if you have been involved in accident, and your car is written-off you will not get a courtesy car.
Same goes for excess. During reporting the claim I have been informed that I will not have to pay excess as it was not my fault. But guess what, they want to deduct excess, and then I will have to chase my excess to be refunded.

I often see Hasting as one of the cheapest for me on comparison websites, I don't buy them though, they are cheap for a reason. I am sure some people have had good experiences with them as well.
Alot of insurers do not provide courtesy cars once your car is written off or at least only for a certain defined period, excess is usually claimed from the third party if you have had to pay it and Your not at fault.
unfortunately second hand car valuations are usually haggling match. What the consumer wants will always be higher and vice versa. So you need to prove why your car is worth X
Getting new brakes, tyres will not improve the price. Once they are used, they are used."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Well done Hastings. With a comprehensive policy, you're covered for a courtesy car whilst your car is being repaired after an accident. But, if your car can't be repaired, we don't supply a courtesy car. That's what our substitute vehicle cover is for, so you can relax in the knowledge that if your car's completely out of action, you'll receive a like-for-like replacement vehicle for up to 21 days.
