Mystery bank credit

I have just had £100 credited to my bank account but I do not recognise the creditor's name, Assured Policyhold. My bank has given me what seems a letter reference 17 letters and digits long.
Does anybody recognise the name of Assured Policyhold?

Is it anything to do with a life insurance policy you've taken out recently?

Was it a Bacs or FPS credit? If Bacs then ask your bank for the Service User number.30+ years working in banking1

I have longstanding car, care and house insurance. All seem unlikely to give credit without advising me or using the name of the relevant company. I am wondering if it was a bank transfer intended for a different destination. Get one digit wrong ...
Will speak to my bank again.0 -
Just wait a few days and see whether a letter arrives to explain. It's usually how these stories end. In the old days the letter would have contained a cheque but these days the money tends to land first.1

wmb194 is right. I have found out where the £100 came from. For about 8 weeks I have been trying to get an answer about my insurance from the Claims Dept of Countrywide Assured and today I had an abject apologetic letter from them. They said they much regretted the way I had been treated and said they were sending me £100 in compensation. This gratuitous offer came five days after I saw the puzzling £100 in my bank account. Trouble was the credit was not in the name of Countrywide Assured so I did not recognise it.
So problem solved, and much thanks to those of you for your suggestions.
