Lots of people have given advice, numerous times, i really doubt if you keep asking the same question someone's going to say 'yeah I've got one in my shed you can have for £50, I'll come round at the weekend and fit it for free'

Get a cheap and cheerful back street repair
Get a proper reman'd unit

Long story short - the OP was warned by a garage that the gearbox was leaking, continued to drive the car, then looked surprised when the box died having run out of oil...7 -

No, but it has been that way in all the jobs I've had. If you don't give the "correct" answer, they just keep on coming back and bothering you until you do, then they tick a box and lose interest until someone rattles their cage again.molerat said:
