Is this a good deal for Scottish Power Customers??
I switched to ScottishPower December 2020. Fixed price tariff is due to end this December. I pay £98/month for gas/elec.
I was emailed by Scottish Power offering another 12 months fixed price at £117/ month on an exclusive deal for existing customers.

Switching doesn’t look like an option at the moment and I’m not keen to be on a variable tariff. Is it worth taking this fixed deal to ride out the next 12 months? (Screenshot below(

You need to "Find out more" and tell us the per unit and per day rates. It's probably not a good deal, but it depends upon how terrified you are of some risk in your life.Bear in mind that the "Variable" tariff is not allowed by the government to go any higher until April, after which you'll be using vastly less power until next winter. So this fixed tariff would only provide a limited degree of protection, you'd be exposed to the risk of whatever was available again in Dec 2022, just before the coldest months. Also, costs may reduce in the next year and the market may start working again, in which case you would save £60 by being able to switch without penalty.I'd suggest that the £1904 option is probably fictional, is simply the amount they want you to pay +£500,odd, and is there only to make your "exclusive" offer look less ridiculous! You will probably pay less than their "exclusive" price if you go onto the variable tariff. I'm guessing it's probably "exclusive" to you and every other customer that's up for renewal. They really should call it their "profitable" tariff, as the standard tariff definitely isn't - that's why they're playing these sorts of games.0
