    I’m fixed till 26th November this year then on the price cap till April. 
    But they offering a three year fix makes me wonder if they think prices will drop at some point tying people in on higher rates with exit fees of £60 per fuel.

    Well OVO must think the prices will drop in the third year of the fix if they are offering a 2 year fix at £213 and a 3 year fix at £184.

    It is simply a gamble.

    I'd say that's exactly what they're thinking. No one knows for sure how this will pan out, but I' d say bide your time, stay on the SVT until next spring, then with the winter out of the way many of the factors that have pushed prices up will no longer be relevant and as the market seems to expect at present, prices will be significantly lower. 

    Add to that the fact that many customers will be with suppliers they haven't chosen and perhaps don't have any sense of loyalty towards. The big companies which have survived will be competing keenly for market share, and there could well be some better deals on offer.

    There are no tariffs cheaper than the SVT, or even close. see Martin's article.
