E.on pushing their fixed tariffs
Options
My good deal came to an end a few days ago and like many others I’ve opted for their standard variable rates as it’s already an increase of almost £500 a year on my previous deal.

Opened email today with them still pushing their fixed tariff but you have to laugh at “You've rolled onto our higher, variable price, but it's not too late to change that”
Really - cause I think you’ll find the variable price is cheaper 😂

Yeah that’s rather scummy.
id have thought the Advertising standards agency and/or ofgem would have something to say about this. It’s deliberately deceptive marketing. From feudal serf to spender, this wonderful world of purchase power2 -
Shocking how high the fixes have now become, though.
The April increases are gonna hurt a lot of people. From feudal serf to spender, this wonderful world of purchase power2 -
I suppose they could claim that it's higher than the amount that you used to pay.Still intentionally misleading though, I'll bet they're all playing these kind of games.1

The April increases are gonna hurt a lot of people.I hope things settle down by April but who knows! But I’d rather be paying variable rates during these winter months than some of the fixed prices 😮wittynamegoeshere said:I suppose they could claim that it's higher than the amount that you used to pay.Still intentionally misleading though, I'll bet they're all playing these kind of games.
I’m sure E.on won’t be the only ones!0 -
Worst case scenario is that come April, the fixes being advertised now might look quite attractive...0

Agreed, but as I'm gonna chew through around 5-6000kwh of leccy between now and then (depending on the weather), I'm gonna take my chance with the SVT and see whats around next April.
Come April my consumption will drop dramatically so the rise wont be quite so painful and hopefully the situation might have stabilised a bit by next autumn (fingers crossed). Fixing at really silly prices looks like a big gamble at the momentNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1
