Regarding 'other comments' as requested, maybe some pots with flowers in would increase kerb appeal when it comes to sell. Is there anywhere you can store the bins? outside the window would make me think of odours in the summer at least and its unsightly.

Unfortunately not, there isn't any side access. Could always leave them at the end of the driveway but as those windows don't open albeit for the small ones at the top the odour shouldn't be too much of an issue. I could move them to the side of the driveway and build a bin store or something, but that would mean you'd only fit two cars on the driveway.

A lot of them are missing vents and one window on the side needs replacing as you can see daylight between the window and the frame and the opening mechanism is shot. I could faff about and fix it but it'll look better with a new window and the size means its not going to be expensive.

I've got some planters to go out the front. The driveway was finished on Friday last week, so its this weekends job :)

Maybe investigate changing the handles, but I wouldn't change the windows.
When you have someone up a ladder probably worth cleaning the gutter.
And just pop the bins out of sight for photos and maybe at the side of the drive for viewings.

I'll give them a good clean this weekend and see how they look. Its more the interior that I think looks a bit shabby. The black seals going round them are very grotty and we've struggled to get them looking good.

Most people don't take in a lot of detail in viewings.

I spent half a year of weekends tarting up our last place before it went on the market.  Yes it sold immediately but after the cost of new carpets, paint, tiles, etc, it probably didn't make me any extra money.

Factor in the effort and it's probably a net loss.  It's irrelevant when you  improve a home for your enjoyment.

We have replaced hinges and handles, they are online and the place I bought mine from also sold a uPVC cleaner, brought them up a treat with added elbow grease. I always oil the mechanicals every year and mine are running on 23 years old and look very good. Just did a bit of TLC.

Only problem I had with hinges was matching the ones on sale to fit the moulding, only had to drill one hole as well. The handles, matched the fitting in the window, £5 each or something. With the cleaner applied, the interiors look new with shiny new handles.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, if its got new handles they may not notice. As i'm doing a lot of DIY its saving big on the costs, it definitely needs new carpets and paint. Depends if those are minor improvements or major ones. Its definitely the latter in my case as the decor is really dated and carpet is fraying in places.

Some of the windows have yellowed slightly so I'm not confident the cleaner will reverse that.

The other issue I've got is having to get a window for the garage conversion, that's probably going to highlight how old the other windows are. I'm not particularly keen on the leadwork within the windows, I think it dates/darkens the property.

The windows are fine, just need a good clean. Put the bins in the garage for the photos and viewings. I assume you will be finishing the drive?

In everything you have said I am still not convinced that replacing the windows is worth it. If you want to change the handles fine, go for it, I cant say I paid much / any attention to that detail when viewing my current (or any) house and it certainly wouldn't have changed my opinion in any way on price paid. If you have blown panes then, yes, replace those as that will be picked up and noted on the survey.

Regarding yellowing; what have you tried to get rid of it to date? Vinegar / water mix is a god homemade one to start with. I also like the no nonsense range at screwfix and they have a upvc cleaner for a fiver that might be worth a go.
