Named GP
Comments
-
Our surgery wrote to us some time ago to give us 'a named GP'. I think the purpose is to ensure that surgeries cannot take on more patients than they can effectively manage. Having a 'named GP' does not mean that you will always, or ever!, see that GP. My named GP is actually the senior partner at the practice and rarely sees patients as he serves on various boards and that takes most of his time.I don't think it's age related, but if it is the age requirement is a lot lower than 70. My wife would only have been about 60 when we were notified.0

Yes it is breaking the rules. See here https://www.bma.org.uk/advice-and-support/gp-practices/managing-your-practice-list/requirement-for-all-patients-to-have-a-named-gp
