Good morning everyone
My family who went to the party are going down like flies with this Covid, all except my poorly sister so that is a miracle in itself. Luckily nobody has it too bad and no one has needed to go to hospital so I am very happy about that.
My eldest daughter is flying to Crete on Friday for a week and we are looking after the grandchildren. I have just added a few things to the shopping for packed lunches for them as I haven't needed to do that for a long time. They are really looking forward to staying here for a week instead of just a night here and there. My grandson wants me to teach him how to knit but he is left handed and I am not so if anyone has any tips that would help I would be very grateful.
Thai green curry for dinner tonight, Phoebe will be over the moon as it is one of her favourite meals. I have bought another Hairy Bikers cookbook so will be making quite a few dishes from that over the next week or so.
I won a prize on the Euromillions but as it was only £3.80 I'll put my plans for a new home on hold!
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx11 -
Dumpling get him to sit facing you rather than beside you, that's how my nana taught me.Chin up, Titus out.11

I am left handed and my nanna taught me to knit sitting on her lap and holding my hands whilst I did the needles. I taught my neices and nephews the same way both left and right handers, but I could never learn to crochet it just tied me up in knots. I suppose it depends on the size and age of your grandson too. I was about 6 when I learnt with plastic needles and thickish wool.

Afternoon all, it's a beautiful day after all the rain, wind and stormy weather we've endured this week. This morning DGD was fed, watered and deposited at school then we went to a motoring shop for some bits and bobs as Mr Fix It and our van friend will be servicing our car this weekend. One item was not in stock but it was ordered for pick up in an hour so we went to Hal*ords for more parts and oils, where we spent an arm and a leg. We were still too early for pick up and we decided to go to cos*a for a coffee, then into TK Maximus, which was almost empty, where I bought some more xmas bits. I missed buying some bits and bobs last year for DD and the DGC so I refuse to miss out doing so this xmas. The 'van was checked on the way home, all ok but Mr Fix It broke the moisture trap being heavy handed Harry 😠Last night we had 2 power cuts which was a high voltage problem apparently, the second cut took out 2500 houses, our village and the surrounding ones, luckily we could easily find our torches in the dark and it wasn't too long before our power returned. This afternoon I want to find a large green garden bag, I'm sure it's in one of the sheds. It will be needed to fill with some of the decorative gravel before the drive man starts, I want to keep them and then repurpose them.Take care all, hugs to the poorly people and those in need.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Afternoon everyone
It got out lovely here today - sunny and quite warm. very calm after the wildness of yesterday!
Little one saw her consultant yesterday and she is to try having no tube feeds all day now - just her usual 12 hours at night. So that's progress - the plan is that it should make her more hungry for food - if she starts to loose weight more the feeds will have to be re-instated. She is still loving being able to drink. Just finished my tea - I need to go out the back and pick up the contents of my blue bin - which have blown everywhere - luckily it wasn't too full.
Hope everyone has had a good day and fingers crossed for more sunshine tomorrow.10 -
We had a short power cut last night.
Night off cooking for me as we ate at the SA. I still need to wash up as I brought empty pudding dishes home + recycling that needs a rinse.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
