What’s the longest you’ve waited to receive a prize?

In the spirit of reviving the compers chat corner…

What’s the longest you’ve ever waited to receive a prize? I received a book a few weeks ago which I won 4.5 months ago.

Can anyone top that?

I still have not received the car I entered to win 2 years ago.
I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus

I haven't won very much but one of my highest value wins was a £200 superdry voucher through Klarna's instagram page.  It took 3 months to receive them after chasing it up every few weeks.  The first two times I messaged them on their webpage, they disconnected me!  I finally got it resolved through instagram DMs.

I think I waited around 2 months or so for my armchair. But, in their defence, they were made to order and had a 6 week lead time for them so I knew to expect a wait.

6 months for a laptop. By the time they sent the prize, the original laptop was no longer available, so they sent a newer model. I also waited about the same amount of time for a multi part prize. Some parts arrived within days, but I was still chasing up the remaining 2 about 6 months later.

    Nice thread

I've been wracking my brains over this, wanting to contribute, but I can't remember stuff like that very well. I asked my 'memory man' and he remembers that I'd won a CD about 3 years ago and waited months for it. Then was told it was out of stock and they offered me tickets to see him in concert, which we didn't want. He thinks it was Noah...someone.

  • I've been waiting a year and 2 months for a Best puzzle magazine win, Its £100 and when I ask about it they say they will send a cheque once they are back in the office, so I've kinda given up hope at this point!

Have you politely suggested your next step is to contact the ASA?

I have been waiting for a "big mystery prize" since March 2020, Covid/people working from home was blamed for the delay, I got in touch every few months, then in Oct. this year (19 months later) I received a £50 online voucher that had to be used before the end of November!

Two years because of covid! Won a european christmas market trip In December 2019, they only told me I won literally days before Christmas so couldn't take it that year, then covid hit and travel was off-limits. All being well we will be going on Friday! it's been stress but the prize is SO good

Have you tried asking them for a bank transfer instead. I won a £100 argos voucher from Real People mag in the summer which never arrived. When I contacted them they offered me £100 bank transfer instead which I received at the beginning of this month. I've just checked and they are both published by Hearst UK so same company.
