Google calendar adding people

Hi
I am trying to add my personal talktalk email to my google calendar so when i get invites they are added straight away to my calendar as i always use the talktalk e mail address in everything i do and never the google one.
I have followed these steps
Share a calendar with specific people https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37082#controlaccess&zippy=%2Cunderstand-permission-settings-for-shared-calendars But i get the try again error message each time i try so i have left it an hour and still getting the same message.
I have tried all this on the pc and not my android phone
What am i doing wrong?
