Repairing a CRT TV

Trying to repair a Sony KV-29LS30U. Sony blink code is 11 - I understand this means jungle 8 volts and relates to the jungle IC. However I've been told that what actually needs replacing is the MCZ3001 IC. Can anyone confirm, please?

Comments

  • Can't confirm, you need to do further diagnostics than just the blink code to be sure, or you could do trial and error and swap a component and test.

The MCZ3001 is a PWM so could be related to supplying the 8 volt for the jungle controller, probably worth swapping as it is only £3 but the best way would be to test the outputs from the PWM against the service manual specifications to see if they are all good.

I'd inspect all solder joints as the first port of call if you haven't done so already, get a magnify glass, some good light and patience. Also visually inspect and test any caps.

If it is the jungle IC itself that has failed you are going to struggle to find a replacement.
