Octo LNB. Poor/no waterproofing of F plugs with tape or boots and the cable shroud/cover missing.

IF it is communal then there would be cables to all other flats.  Up to four with two feeds each for recorders.
IF communal then it should be fixed by managing agents/freeholder.

If private (yours) landlords permission to fix to building would be needed...

Thanks for the ( probable ) bad news .
After me replying in a strong email to the managing agents telling them I'm annoyed at the directors and all involved decision, I have just had to send an email to them asking if it is a communal dish .
I didn't address it to the person who I dealt with yesterday , but just sent it to admin @ etc

If luck is on my side ( doubtful, ) then hopefully the managing agents will sort it
The reply may be anytime until Friday .

If not , It looks that I have an expensive bill and prolonged search to find the best solution
I may have to go to sky for 18 months 🙀😾🤬

Being located so close to the boiler exhaust isn’t ideal and being acidic may have promoted corrosion to connections.  New LNB would be the first thing to try and wouldnt require special tools to swap

Well ,I decided to ask sky for advice . It was a crowded mess with a can't be bothered attitude from the 'adviser' I spoke to .
He pointed me into the direction of the managing agents .
I don't know if I've mentioned already , but I got new lnb put in when I got connected .
Looking at the dish again, it does look shot ..

There is a hole drilled into the wall of my living room. ( side window nearest dish ) The cable from there towards my Tv is tight to say the least . I purchased an extension  lead
    which is very good
  • I forgot to mention that the flue by the dish is not connected to boiler .
The boiler is in the small bedroom on other side of property.
    pesky flat conversions 😾
  • Update ;
Managing agents are sending somebody over to investigate
    Sounds good
