Quick Victory - Aldi/Parking Eye

Got nabbed on ANPR in an Aldi store that isn't my local and received a £40 scam charge from Parking Eye. Quickly checked this forum for latest advice and fired off the following email to the Aldi MD Giles Hurley on gmd.cs@aldi.co.uk (I suspect this is not actually a direct line to Hurley, rather a higher level customer service email that gets filtered):
Dear Mr Hurley,
Re: Vehicle registration XXXX XXX - Parking Eye ref: XXXXXX/XXXXXX
On the 12th September 2021 I took my son to your store in [Place 1] as he was moving into his student accommodation at nearby [...] University. This is not my usual Aldi, I am a regular shopper at your [Place 2] store in [County] and a long-time Aldi patron.
Because the parking arrangements are different at Aldi [Place 1], my wife was not aware of the requirement to add the vehicle registration in the terminals in store. After spending £66.53 on that day (receipt attached), she left the store still unaware.
Today I have received a parking charge notification from the repellent scammers, Parking Eye, who, for some unknown reason, you have entrusted to harass your customers for innocent mistakes at your stores across the country.
Cynically, one assumes the requirement to log one's registration number in store is deliberately vague so that more people are caught by Parking Eye's underhand tactics. This company does not have a good reputation and I am, frankly, surprised that Aldi has partnered with such a cowboy outfit.
I look forward to your confirmation that this parking charge will be cancelled forthwith.
The above was sent on Saturday. Today, Monday, I received the following:
Dear [Name],
Thank you for your email sent to our CEO, Giles Hurley.
I am pleased to hear that you are a regular customer at our [Place 2] store. However, I am sorry to hear that you received a parking charge after shopping at our [Place 1] store.
I can confirm there are parking terminals in this store and customers need to enter their full, correct vehicle registration numbers to qualify for free parking for 1.5 hours. Whilst it's likely that you didn't notice during your visit, there are signs both inside and outside the store which advertise the parking policy.
Please be assured that I have arranged for your parking charge to be cancelled and I hope this satisfactorily resolves the issue for you.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us and bringing this matter to our attention. I hope that you will remain a valued Aldi customer.
Kind regards

Very good, and yes it is easy with Aldi if you complain to the top.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
