Can someone explain please why, if the government put a cap on covid PCR tests (think it was about £60), there are still tests on their own website of tests charging up to £200. None of it makes sense.

What cap are you referring to? They reduced the cost of NHS travel tests from £88 to £68 but I don't believe any cap was imposed on private providers....ceewash said:Can someone explain please why, if the government put a cap on covid PCR tests (think it was about £60), there are still tests on their own website of tests charging up to £200. Does anyone have a link to one of these? As I looked on the list it said £68, then when I tried to book it was £139. Am I doing something wrong?0

Possibly - https://quarantinehotelbookings.ctmportal.co.uk/ is the site you need, but offers a range of options, depending on country of arrival, vaccination status, and country of departure. Following the links for a fully vaccinated arrival into England from a non-red country gave a £68 result, which permutation are you using?ceewash said:Does anyone have a link to one of these? Yes, this is also mentioned in the MSE article that lists all the other best-buy offerings:ceewash said:Even if you’re not flying Ryanair?

Thanks. Reading through the link. KLM seem to offer one for £40 which is about cheapest. Would help if gov put a date on when PCR will no longer be needed.0

I'm still raging that the government aren't doing anything about the ridiculous abuse of their listing system with the fake pricing and silly names that companies are registering to bump themselves up the list.

I had a PCR Fit to Fly Test in a Clinic yesterday in Glasgow at 09.10 am.
The samples are apparently couriered down to Liverpool and I had the result (negative) and my Certificate by 2315 the same day.
Not bad for £691 -
Had similar done in Vienna and it was free, even for tourists. Why is that? And their gargle test is much less unpleasant than the stick up nose and mouth.0
