My Index-linked Savings Certificate Is about to mature and I have the option to renew for a further five years – as I’m a little clueless Rev index linking, is it worth doing this versus other interest bearing accounts? Thank you very much.

Renew, they are now linked to CPI (as opposed to the better RPI) but inflation is only going one way nothing else comes close (where your capital is at zero risk).2

There is no other way of getting inflation matching from Savings as opposed to risk-based investments. If you dont need the money for another 5 years renew, it is a very good deal.2

This question gets asked regularly. 99% of the answers are to keep them, and we all wish we could buy some more but that is not possible .1

With the woeful interest offered on most of NS&I's current products, I wonder why they offer the chance for people to renew these, especially considering there is no other way to keep up with inflation in any other savings account at the moment and therefore no similar products competing for the money ? I'm jealous, of course

Another reason to roll over. It may not last forever. Make hay while the sun shines

..another vote for rolling over assuming you don't need the cash....we've been rolling ours over for years now, just wish they continued to offer them!
