Lloyds Bank - fee waiver on Platinum Account ended

Just checked my account and seen that £21 account fee went out on 1st October. I've had a free account for years and years, back to when fees were first introduced (had to keep £4000 in account to avoid paying, which I always did as it was such a good deal). Trawled back through inbox and, sure enough, there's a message sent in June (which I missed) saying the free account waiver would end on 1st September. No explanation, no apology and no compensation (!). I guess that's life but still come as a bit of a shock so wanted to warn others who may be in a similar situation and now might want to review their options.

Already discussed on the forum several times, see e.g. this thread:

(not sure why you think there should be "compensation (!)" btw, it's just a change of terms, albeit an unwelcome one, and the bank are allowed to change terms if they give notice, which they did)

You have had certain perks free of charge for “years and years” which in more recent times most other people would have had to pay for the insurance either with Lloyds or elsewhere if they needed cover for those things. And it’s come to an end, which is something Lloyds can do by changing their terms which they have exercised their right to do so.

Not too sure why compensation would be due here.

Why would they pay you compensation for a change you acknowledge they gave you forward notice of?
