I select "EU COVID Digital Certificate/ COVID-19 equivalent EU-recognised certificate", select the pdf file, validate, and it comes up with a validation error.
Anyone know what's wrong. The form that I'm loading is the certificate that I'm selecting that was generated from the NHS app that has the 2 barcodes.

Update - I can pretend that it's not equivalent/recognised by Spain and select 'Other Certificate'

Update 2 - looks like it's a well known issue. Having convinced us that they will accept that NHS cert as 'equivalent', the UK are not on the equivalent list, so you have to pick 'other'!

Our NHS certificates are not an EU Covid Digital Certificates. They are an equivalent, yes, but the Spainish form cannot validate them (presumably because they are not in the format that the EU ones are).

Just select other and have your NHS certificate available when you arrive on the off chance anyone might want to see it

Yes - you've read what I said  - that I selected 'other', even though they ask you to upload a recognised equivalent.

What makes you think that the border security can validate the print out but the SPTH people can't?

According to my local travel agent, it's the most commonly asked question, and many people have selected "COVID-19 equivalent EU-recognised certificate" with the validation error and then have to show it anyway. The travel agent believes that they were very presumptuous by writing the frequently asked Q & A's before they had the questions!

The fact of the matter is that they have a list of different countries equivalents that are unloadable and able to validate and a list that aren't (even though they are equivalent for the purpose of accepting visitors)!

Wait until you want to return to the UK and find out the UKs PLF will not accept the NHS Covid Pass!!!
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

Now that would be a joke. Does it also expect an EU cert and doesn't even recognise it's own UK NHS cert?

No joke - see this thread I started a few days ago. Those who had travelled recently said they had to print it out.

Many thanks - I'll watch out for that one. On another thread, I asked about the process to get from the UK to Spain & back and someone called Doshwaster said it was simple if you just follow the instructions - utter plonka!

I have just done the Spanish form, I picked the option below the EU one, The form was easy to do. I have printed off the QR code and downloaded it. Just got to do the UK PLF when coming back (got my day 2 kits).

I feel like I'm being stalked here. Have we met before?

I'm in Spain right now and will happily report on my experience of the return to UK procedure, it's just that I didn't have any problems with the departure requirements. I would just suggest that if possible you print everything out as it is quicker for the officials to scan a piece of paper than to wait for everyone to find the right email on their phone.

I believe the reverse is true. You are hunting down and joining my posts.
Thanks for your advice. The issue here is that on a previous thread, you were claiming that the process was a breeze to you and quite simple if you just follow the instructions, whilst you could see lots of others having issues at the airport.
In truth, there are issues with the system that you didn't mention, even though many people have experienced the issues. Eg; when you get your Spain locator form, you can't load up the UK NHS EU 'equivalent' certificate, so you have to click the other box. When coming to the UK, it also won't accept the UK's own NHS cert!
These are stresses that you don't need on the day before you are travelling, and it is comforting to know that they are known issues and the workaround BEFORE you get to the system issues.
You have to remember that many people travelling to Spain around this time of year are 'elderly' and may not be so confident on the computer. Being smug that it was a breeze for you doesn't help them - they need a little help and respect.
I agree that it's more comforting to have the printed forms rather than rely on technology.
