Ongoing leaking garage roof issues since insurer replaced it.

Hi all,
This is an ongoing issue I'm having to deal with in my garage.
About 8 years ago or so, we had a garage fire, the garage was refitted and a new roof put on by "general" builders, so not professional roofers.
Ever since then we've had ongoing leak issues.
We were with Sainsburys insurance at the time, but are now with another company.
Even though they came out a handful of times to repair it, it's still got several areas where water is obviously coming in, as there's black mould in round patches forming in several areas.
After a few years of it being an issue, my dad used to try and fix it himself by putting some kind of transparent filler in areas where the bolts were showing on the roof, but to no real avail, the whole roof needs ripping off and replacing.
But given that it's been quite a long time, do I have any comeback with the original insurance company?

After eight years, I doubt it. It's a long shot, but did the work come with any warranty?0

Yea I figured I might not have a chance. Sadly I don't know, the insurance was all handled by my dad, as it was in his name.
He passed away last year and I can't find any information on it.
Going to try writing to them about it.0 -
The insurers could well turn around and say they have no contract with you, as it was your Dad who was the policyholder - but I'm not sure if any of them would actually do that.AdamPD said:Yea I figured I might not have a chance. Good luck, and sorry for your loss.0
