Covid Tests for Holidays with Connecting Flights

Hello!
We're cautiously thinking about booking a honeymoon to Mauritius especially now that they're removing the requirement to quarantine on arrival.
Practically speaking, we may end up getting a flight locally, e.g. from Manchester, that has a connection rather than schleping down to London for a direct flight.
My question is: if both countries, e.g. Dubai (the connecting country) and Mauritius (the destination) require a covid test, can they be the same test? ie. do we each only need one test and they can share the result with both countries?
Thanks for your advice.

Yes is the simple answer if they both accept the same type of test, PCR or hopefully lateral flow. However, rules change weekly so you would need to keep up to date prior to travel0

Yes you can use the same test for both, but will need to check the timescales and type of test for both countries.💙💛 💔0

Have you asked your airline? You mentioned Dubai: Emirates are actually very helpful by telephone.
There is generally a difference between entering a country and passing through it (remaining in the transit zone).

This varies significantly by country... USA, India etc you have to legally enter the country before leaving on your next flight whereas others, like the UK, you dont enter the UK when going on an international connecting flight.Worried_fool said:There is generally a difference between entering a country and passing through it (remaining in the transit zone).
Even if you dont enter the country some have given rules for those transiting whereas others have said you arent entering so it doesnt matter... worse still some have different rules depending on if you get off the plane or not.
At the end of the day the OP needs to read the rules fairly close to the date of leaving... it is very possible the same result can be used in both countries0
